Time to take a look around the blog itself. If you're new to blogs and have no idea what they do or how to use them, this is the post for you. I plan to add more functions to the blog as time goes on, but I wanted to keep it simple to start, as one of my goals is
easily discernible information. Some duded up blog won't help me and probably won't help you.
Here are the features I'll be talking about today:
- The events list
- The followers list
- The blog archive
- Comments
- Subscription
To the right of this post you will see 3 elements. At the top: "Enderis Park Events." This is exactly what you think. It's a calendar in agenda format. This is a good place to check for upcoming events.
Below the events, you will see, "Followers." If you are a frequent visitor to the blog, I suggest becoming a follower. Just click the button labeled "Follow" and Google will guide you through the setup. Once you set it up, play around a bit. You can see who else is following the blog, you can see what other interesting blogs they follow as well as sending messages to them right from the Enderis Park Blog.
Below the Followers list you will see the "Blog Archive." Pretty self explanatory. If you want to catch up on posts you might have missed or would like to reference an old post you can find it in the Blog Archive.
Below each post you will see some smaller type. The first thing you see here will be something like, "
Posted by dwworks at 10:01 AM" Right after, you will see a "Comments" link. This is where you can have your say in the blog. It doesn't have to be groundbreaking, but if you have a thought about the post you just read or would like to share some information you have about the topic, click the comments link and post your comment.
Finally, at the bottom of this page is a link that reads: "Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)". Click this link to set up a subscription service (free of charge). Once you are enrolled, you will receive a notice in your feed reader whenever a new post is added to the blog. Confused? Don't be afraid to click the link and choose one of the feed readers. I use Google. It's fairly intuitive and will make following this and every other blog you like ridiculously easy. I'm a big fan of ridiculously easy and simple things.
